FOM Tekkies are designed in South Africa and handmade in Europe with a focus on quality and longevity. They are made from premium, LWG-certified leathers and genuine suede set on partly recycled rubber soles with shock-absorbent EVA memory foam insoles.

Freedom of Movement was founded by the Boezaart brothers who – fuelled by a passion for design and entrepreneurship – had a dream to create a global, proudly South African-born lifestyle brand.

When they were kids, their parents had their hands full raising a crew of four enthusiastic boys and in an attempt to maintain some form of order, their father introduced a new house rule: Freedom of Movement.
Quality, longevity, value, worth.
In the Boezaart home, Freedom of Movement had to be earned through hard work and discipline. If the boys’ academic performance was on par, for example, they proved that they could make and take responsibility for their own decisions and earned their Freedom of Movement. This simple house rule instilled a true appreciation of the importance of dedication and diligence in the Boezaart boys and had a profound impact on the way they saw the world.
In 2013, after qualifying as a Civil Engineer and Chartered Accountants, earning the freedom to make their own moves, they founded the lifestyle brand they had been dreaming of – aptly named Freedom of Movement – on the core principles of quality, longevity, value, and worth.
